Quiltmaking in the Midst of Chaos

I've been trying to finish a wall quilt to enter, if I am so lucky, in PIQF. But I've also been trying since our water heater burst on June 20th to get the house repaired and back in order -- dealing with an insurance claim and lots of contractors. This certainly complicates the quilting goal. Two months and still there is no intact bedroom, the hall bath is partially tiled and has no toilet, and we're down to the subfloors waiting for floor leveling compound to dry before the carpet can go in. So I moved my Bernina to the dining room, amidst the piles of stuff moved for the carpet installation, and here I've sat quilting for the past three days.

And, Murphy's Law of course, I started having thread problems with my hook mechanism. Sophie Bernina will go in for some private uninsured health care next week when I go on vacation!

Daughter Kacie comes from the East Coast tomorrow night to sleep here! Good thing she's been camping all summer, so the family room couch won't be so bad!
