Celebrating my Dad's 80th Birthday in Los Cabos, Mexico

On Friday the thirteenth, my always very lucky father, Burt, turned 80. (He's famous for getting the best parking spots absolutely everywhere he goes, among other fortunate occurences.) He and my mom live in Naples, Florida, and my husband Toby and I live in the San Francisco suburbs. We all flew to San José del Cabo to spend last week at our vacation property at the Alegranza Residential Resort.

On Dad's actual birthday, we went out on a classic (1955) sailboat. Dad hadn't sailed since he moved from Westport, Connecticut, and reluctantly sold his boat two years ago. Sailing is his passion, so this was the perfect celebration. The weather, the winds, the endearing sea lions, and the jumping dolphins all were perfect. The peripatetic whales were more of a challenge; we only caught sight of their spouts.

How blessed we were to have such a great vacation. How blessed am I by my dad, my mom, and my husband, all shown in these photos.
