Where Does my Creative Time Go?

Our hot water heater let go of its 75 gallons of hot water while we were away last week, drenching flooring in five rooms. The insulation drank it up, sucking it up knee-high into the drywall. Tiles cracked as the subfloor bogged down with the moisture. All in all, not a pretty sight. And all the electronics in the den have temporarily checked into other quarters.

State Farm is handling our claim--well so far. We've had a jet's engine's worth of noise and heat as drying fans with heaters and dehumidifiers ran full blast for seven days . . . some when it was over 100 degrees outside. A parade of paperwork, adjusters, esimators, and contractors marched through next, taking a break for the Fourth of July this long weekend. Then the repairs will begin . . . so not a lot of opportunity for writing or quilting, except the one day of class I had reserved long ago (see my next post). Of course, Wimbledon is a distraction, too . . .

Meanwhile, I have two friends who almost choked to death, so this water mess is just a bother, no big deal! Perspective helps.
