Fast Fassett for Condo in Mexico

Last April, I took a one day Kaffe Fassett workshop, just to meet the man behind the colorful fabric. I didn't even like the sample quilt ("Tapestry Garden Quilt" in his Kaleidoscope of Quilts and Passionate Patchwork books), and I don't usually make quilts that follow a formula any more, but this was a fun break from "trying hard." And I needed a lively-king sized bed quilt for the master bedroom in a condo we rent out in San José del Cabo. This was perfect for that. Some of the fabrics are his, others not. It went together fast, and then sat for months until I got around to piecing the back last week. I've sent it off to be quilted on a long-arm, one big UFO up and out. My Sea Ranch quilt room has made quite a few of these; they go together fast and easy and can look quite different depending on fabric choices.
